Default 103 Build Advice

Can one build a 103 without having head work done? I have to split the cases, so I was thinking, might as well do it now. Can I just use the cast flat top stroker pistons and keep my original heads?

The dealer is splitting the cases and the labor will be at their cost. I already have the 95 inch kit and SS 510 gear driven cams. So all I will need to purchase is the stroker kit.

Thank you for any advise.

You can but why do the job part way? A minor cleanup and some bowl work can be had on your heads for a few hundred bucks and it will really make a pretty big difference.

Adding inches and lift will do some good, but if it can't get in or out through the head then it won't matter.

My 2 cents.
