Default 883 vs. 1200

Has anyone ridden both? If so, which do you prefer and why?

I'm going to get a sportster when I have the money but I'd like to know if you guys think the 883 or 1200 is better and why.

I've ridden the 883 and I love it, it seems like its got enough power for me right now, but I haven't been riding too long so I feel like I may want more later on. I'd love to hear your opinions! Thanks.

My wife has an 883L and I have to admit...I like riding it. It takes more throttle to make it snap around, especially compared to the beast that I usually ride but it's a great bike.

I test rode a 1200 last year at a Bike Week and it was a bit of a pig. It was bone stock though, her 883L has pipes and an AC kit with a rejet on the carb so that probably helps.

I am sure the 1200 makes more power, but it was so quiet it was hard to tell. I don't think you'd go wrong either way, but I am a power junkie so I'd say go with the 1200 and that way you won't have to feel bad that you didn't.

It definitely is a great bike and I will ride a 1200 ASAP! Maybe next time my friend rides to a show I will tag along and try to find a one to try out :P

I like your style

That was my main reason for getting a 600 for my first bike actually. I was going to get a ninja 250 and I'm insanely glad I didn't.

I know I won't know which I want til I've had a chance to test ride a 1200 model but thank you very much for your opinion

I haven't taken a ride on any of these two...but i have heard about the bikes....Well as much i know 1200 has good features and has more style statement........Whereas the engine of the other one is stronger than the first one...
